Biography of Theo Elfrink
Theodorus Martinus (Theo) Elfrink (Babberich, 16 mei 1923 – Nijmegen, 31 mei 2014) was a Dutch painter and graphic artist. Theo was educated at the Academy of fine arts in Arnhem and Eindhoven and was employed in Babberich, Elten, Nuenen and since 1953 in Ubbergen. In addition, he was also active in Nijmegen where he had a Studio in the bridgehead of the Nijmegen railway bridge and taught at the free Academy Nijmegen. He also worked just across the border of the Ooijpolder in Germany at a farm in Mehr. His work is particularly inspired by the surroundings of the Rijk van Nijmegen and hangs in Museum Het Valkhof. In 1988, he was awarded the Charlemagne Prize. Theo was on 25 may 2014 hit when he was with the bike the provincial road 325 at Beek. He died on 31 May in a Nijmegen hospital.
