Pieter Vermeulen talks about his work: "Abstract concepts such as desire, confusion, love, confessions and so on, as well as the figurative, are starting points for my work. By colour, form and technique is given this starting translated, made visible. The ambivalent relationship of the visible with the abstract by me again. In my paintings walk recognizable elements and abstractions. Image elements as: rhythm, color and repetition refer to the poetry. A painting that is about a longing, confusion, love is for me a poem ". Two statements by him are: "painting is force myself to stop" and "the reuse of the same color is not laziness, but a go being sucked in, still discovering the expression of it".
