Niek J. Molenaar (1929 – 1994) was as an artist working in Utrecht in the second half of the twentieth century. He was active as a painter, draughtsman, etcher, illustrator, poet, journalist. An important source of inspiration for his work formed the travel through many countries and in particular by Greece. This country was his second home, but always returned back to the Niek schalkwijk Street in Utrecht where he lived and worked. In 1992, he was the Baker Prize for the best piece of the autumn exhibition of the society Art love in 1992.
