Looking at the work of Jurjen is the fantasy by the incongruous, mysterious world he are victimised. There is silence and desolation. He draws with fine lines and water structures. By printing different color layers over each other creates a warm, full glow.
In the work of Jurjen, the emphasis is on lithographs, paintings and sculptures. Although we can think of better paintings panels and collages. Almost always Jurjen pierces the surface of his paintings, to look in a layer of the work of art that is behind it. Ravenhorst fits in his work all kinds of figurative elements, such as Moon sickles, volcanoes, bow Windows, feathers, shells and abstracted animal, and human figures. With these details, along with the subtle colors and different materials, he creates an atmosphere in which the important things of life are expressed, of exuberant beauty to love and quiet solitude. Ravenhorst is interested not only in architecture, but also in the colors and the atmosphere of nature.
