Biography of Jan Bollaert

Jan Bollaert describes his work as follows: "primary is the atmosphere that the work. There are no rational or conceptual reflections. All associations are purely intuitive and contains every possible symbolism that the work is non-occasional ". The artist places his work within the neo-pop (pop art) style direction. More than ever, the paintings of Jan Bollaert from what he himself describes as ' nostalgia for an imagined past. ' He goes out in his carefully constructed representations of film images and produced stage photos of more than half a century ago. With razor sharp precision, he imagines a fantasy world, made up of passionate clichés to surreal proportions magnified and relativiteert at the same time.
