Biography of Hans Ebeling Koning
Johannes Gerardus (Hans) Ebeling (Bilthoven, 1 april 1931) is a Dutch painter, draughtsman and graphic artist.
Ebeling studied from 1952 to 1956 at the Academy of art and industry (AKI) in Enschede and was between 1960 and 1987 Professor of drawing and painting to this Academy. He has taught at Caspar Berger among others, Wim Izaks, Paul Silder, Jos Baker and Albert Baldwin. The painter and draughtsman Koen Ebeling Koning is his son.
Ebeling lived and worked successively in diepenveen (1932-1956), Amsterdam and the Hague (to 1962), Enschede (until 1976), Deventer (to 1985), Swindon (until 2002) and Gasselte (from 2002). In 1981 he made a tour through the United States and drove five thousand kilometres from Oregon to New York City. His tribe Gallery was for many years on end Gallery Espace (Eva's Bacon and Rutger Noordhoek Hegt) in Amsterdam.
