Biography of Espen Hagen
Espen Greger Hagen was born in Trondheim (Norway) in 1964. After studying painting and sculpture at the Emily Carr College of Vancouver, followed a course at Hagen Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, where he graduate in 1990. During and after his studies abroad has always drawn to Espen Hagen. Espen Hagen regularly made long treks through North America and Mexico. During these trips he made portraits of the striking North American Indians and the native Mexican population. The striking and speaking style of work and the way in which Hagen by the combination of different techniques the "character" of his characters knew capture did not go unnoticed. From the mid-1990s worked closely with his friend Herman Brood Espen Hagen. Espen Hagen was the "coming man" in the Dutch painting. Thanks to the frequent exhibitions both at home and abroad and his regular television appearances was the star of this talented artist strongly rising. On 10 april 2008, Espen Greger Hagen died of cardiac arrest.
