Charlotte Molenkamp, daughter of painter Nico Molenkamp, initially started to paint in lyrical expressionist style. Later she went to a looser of painting with a free relationship to Visual reality. By her use of form, color and composition Molenkamp creates its own reality. The colourful work teeters on the brink of figuration and abstraction. Nature, animal and human figures are still recognizable, but by the expressive, dynamic style comes pure painting become more prominent. With her paintings the artist wants above all to express her inner observations.
