Vast polders, horizons, clouds, air and water, closed sides and reflections inspired Cea Maat up to making images in which they a sense trying to convey. In her etchings and lithographs she wants to capture the atmosphere of its surroundings. For example the silence, movement, rhythm of lines and structures. More and more is also a man of inspiration for her. In addition to the traditional way of etching makes Cea Maat use of photographic images as a lithograph printed and they then combines with etching techniques. In this way she creates a meerlagigheid and atmosphere that to contemplation. In the late 1970s visited Cea Maat the free Academy in the Hague. They concentrated on figure drawing, illustrative signs, idea development and lithography. That development process culminated in a conscious choice for lithography. Since 1990, she worked as a graphic designer. Her arsenal of skills enlarged it six years ago when she became enthusiastic for the expression power of the etching technique. Currently she is working as a artist/engraver in Studio at home and in the Studio of ARS Aemulae in Leiden.
