Jan van Krieken van Huessen (1942) lives and works in Huissen and attended the Academy of fine arts in Arnhem. Since 1986 he is inspired by a single stone in the pond in his backyard. A symbol for the suffering of the time, a piece of eternity in the midst of a hectic, fast-changing world. In his work makes use of different image van Krieken languages, which he painterly and colorful weaves together or overlap each other. In one representation various stories seem to go. Sometimes mixing old medieval prints itself with a gold seeker cartoon character as Dagobert Duck or with an Idol as the "Venus of Willendorf". Gold mines in Brazil and New Zealand are the background for childhood photos, an alchemist in search of the philosopher's stone or a staircase with symbolic act. The past years, he traveled a lot in Asia, which is evident to the increasingly important role for color in his work. The work of Jan van Krieken van Huessen is represented in various kunstuitlenen, municipal, provincial and private collections.
