Biography of Francis Hoogland

Francis Hoogland (Zutphen 1960) has from 1983-1988 at the Utrecht School of the arts to Constantijn Huygens Camps studied in the direction chart. Her work has a characteristic signature with a very personal colour range. The everyday performances are placed in a figurafief setting. Recent works are characterized by an increasing use of more abstract forms in a playful and also monumental imagination. Topics still come from everyday reality, in which the forms are a personification of human feeling.
