Cees Dolk was born in 1949 in Rotterdam. He was educated at the Academy among other Artibus in Utrecht, the University Jalapa in Veracruz Mexico and the Styria Studio in New York. Except painter is Cees Dolk also bookbinder. The work of Dolk, that consists of collages, paintings, lithographs and drawings, is characterized by its powerful use of colour. Cees Dolk presents us a sensory experience, which pronounced shapes and colors leave a strong visual impression. The vormeloosheid in his head by warring thoughts and feelings get a shape on the paper and linen. We often see how different layers and forms play with each other, sometimes in conflict and sometimes harmoniously.
