Albertus Gradus (Ad) Gerritsen (Arnhem, 18 March 1940 – 2 april 2015) was a Dutch artist. He was painter and graphic artist and also worked in mixed media to collages and spatial objects. As a painter is seen as an autodidact Ad Gerritsen. Still got an early recognition for his work. He worked only figurative. His main themes were the human face, women, youth (innocence) and criminals. The Visual language of Gad is described as: "uncompromising, Sullenly and convincing crotchety, but very disturbing. In the obituaries is mentioned that Museum Arnhem in 2015 with a solo exhibition pays attention to his work. [3] the museum has more than one hundred works of Gabriel in its collection including many screen prints and linocuts and also twelve paintings. In 2000 he won the Gelderland Chart price and in 2011 the Jeanne Obed price. GAD received his inspiration from daily abundance of mass media and from a variety of literature.
