Ad Arma (pseudonym of Ad Robert Meerman, Rotterdam, 1954) is a Dutch sculptor, printmaker, painter and glass artist. His etchings reflect a particular craftsmanship. On the polished Zinc plate he brings the etching ground, an acid-resistant layer. In this he makes his design by parts of the etching ground to remove. When the plate in an acid bath, then on those places the acid a reaction with the zinc. After cleaning the plate is the drawing as deeper lines and surfaces visible. Usually in one color printing ink, but Ad Arma brings hand-multiple colors at once. This creates a ' multicolor ' pressure, with each copy different color nuances. In all his work is the same theme: the coincidence of the past and the future in the dreams of the present. In his etchings is always an almost abstract-like human figure. This gives shape and size to the space. From intuition and concentration creates a poetic atmosphere that he Ad Arma by its subtle color use strengthened. By the original character of his work is Ad Arma a in demand artist. His watercolors, etchings and objects have been in many private collections, both at home and abroad, found a place.
